Privacy policy

Automated Email is maintained by Henry Schade for personal use. This policy describes the desktop utility and this informational website.

Information accessed and purpose

With the account owner's authorization, the utility uses the Gmail API to verify the connected email address, find relevant messages, read their headers and contents, list Gmail labels, and change message read status and labels. Its current task processes No-IP hostname confirmation messages. Gmail authorization is account-wide; the utility applies its configured message filters within the application.

Where information is processed and stored

Processing occurs on the owner's Windows PC. Google authorization tokens and the imported OAuth client configuration are encrypted using Windows protection tied to the current user. A separately maintained local setup file can contain the OAuth client details. These files are not published on this website or committed to the source repository.

Local account settings include email addresses. Processing receipts and logs can contain message IDs, hostname information, timestamps, and outcomes. The dedicated browser profile stores normal browser data, and a failed No-IP page may be saved as a local diagnostic screenshot. The utility does not intentionally save Gmail message bodies to its logs. Local files remain until the owner deletes them; no automatic retention limit is currently implemented.

Sharing and external services

The utility communicates with Google to authorize accounts and use Gmail. For a configured renewal, it sends the confirmation URL and token from the relevant email to No-IP. No-IP and its CAPTCHA provider process normal browser requests under their own policies. The utility does not upload entire Gmail messages to No-IP.

Google user data is not sold, used for advertising, supplied to data brokers, or used to train AI models. The utility does not send it to an AI service. This informational website does not receive the utility's Gmail messages or authorization tokens.

Automated Email's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

Your controls

The owner can disable the Windows scheduled task and revoke access through Google Account connections. Revoking access prevents future authorized API access but does not remove existing local files. Local settings, tokens, browser profiles, logs, and receipts can be deleted from the utility's application-data folder. Any separately retained setup files or backups must be handled separately. Moving an email changes its labels; it does not permanently delete the message.

Website visitors

These static pages do not include analytics scripts, advertising trackers, forms, or application cookies. The web server may retain ordinary access logs such as IP address, requested URL, browser information, and access time.
